Duane Thompson
I along with two partners purchased Buena Vida, formerly Vivo Yo, last October. We just brought it from Stockton, through the Delta, out the San Francisco Bay and down the coast to Long Beach.
It's a 1979 382 with a Yannmar 3QM30. It had a rather large tool box onboard as well as a tiny Morgan tool kit. The Morgan kit probably had the most commonly needed tools.
The large tool kit usually didn't have the tools I needed. It would be a great idea to put together a list of tools needed for cruising.
I would start with a vise mounted to a length of
2X6, cordless drill and bits, screwdriver tips, hacksaw, hammer, chisel/punch set, screwdriver set, vise grips, needle nose pliers, crescent wrenches, pipe wrench, channel lock, wheel puller, c-clip pliers, a few sizes of socket wrenches and open end wrenches, like 14mm open end for bleeding injectors, heat gun, crimper, dikes, wire stripper, voltmeter...
What else, and what other sizes of wrenches?
I spend way too much time reading this board. The info and people are great, better than any board I've ever read.
Thanks again!
