Cleaned corrosion on port cap shroud backing plate

3 coats of zinc chromate primer on backing plate

starboard middle and forward chainplates just after reinstalling

Cleaned corrosion on port cap shroud backing plate

backing plate for port cap shroud chainplate after a night of soaking in vinigar followed by a visit from the wire wheel. Crosion is due to salt water intrusion from leaking deck fitting. Fortunately there is no damage to chainplate.
