IDEAL windlass model CWE
As you all know a windlass install on a 382 is tough to overcome if you don't want it inside the vberth.
Below is what I came up with. I did this lat year and cannot locate all the pics but here are a few.
To start with i had a custom bracket built that would mount to the anchor well bulkhead.
Backing plate:
I had to cut the locker lid and fair out the box for better drainage and to level the bracket.
The IDEAL CWE is a perfect fit for this application. I picked it up used for $1000 so even better.
In order to get the correct angle of pull I used a couple sheets of UHMW as a spacer. I also milled out the bottom sheet so it works as a housing for the wires.
I was able it fit 140' FT of 5/8 HT chain in the lower locker and using a 45 lbs Delta anchor
For those thinking about a windlass, I'm very happy with my set up I can handle my 45 lbs Delta and all chain with the push of a button!
