The wife and I drove two hours to go check the boat yesterday and found the weather to be perfect. The temperature was in the mid sixties, the wind was about 12 to 15 knots out of the southeast, and the sun was shining with no clouds. We had not been out on the boat since the first weekend in November. So, we cranked up the diesel and went sailing for about three or four hours. The temperature on Lake Pontchartrain was cool but not too uncomfortable. The seas were relatively calm and lots of other sailors were taking advantage of the near perfect day. The humidity was so low that we could see New Orleans skyline on the southshore 24 miles away as clear as we have ever seen it.
Thankfully, Mother Nature gave us a taste of spring. We're ready for winter to end so we can go every weekend. We have had more days under 32 degrees than any winter I can remember in my 56 years.
