Hello Guys !
Spend a week at anchor down at Raritan Bay, really got to enjoy the boat this trip. Finding out the things I need for the long hull and getting close with my boat S.V. Yiyi. ❤️.

Hope you all are well, happy sailing!

Hi Adames - I don't remember if anyone has said it, but welcome to the forum.
That's great to hear you got out for a week long trip. We are finally doing the same thing after a summer of too much work.
What kind of things do you want to add for the long haul?

Cheers,
-Mark

Hello Mark :
I did had a warm welcome to the community. Thank you and the other members. For the long hull is important to be self efficient for long periods at anchor, so I started with a week to see what else I need to improve. Quickly realized that my solar needed improvement. I have now installed separate charge control for port/strb/deck. I don't have all the panels that wish to have running but now with better wiring and separate control units it's ready for future upgrades, just plug them in.
Yesterday finally finished the wind pilot install, what a happy day! ( I log in today to share this two improvements) .
Unfortunately hurricane Lee won't let me enjoy the Atlantic for a few days.
I'm currently working on a diesel heater , I'll be onboard during winter and I want to be a little more comfortable than last year.
Lazy Jacks are also on the list ,but these are minor projects compared to the future.
- center board/ stuffing box
- engine & transmission leaks
- standing rigging
- new cruising sails ( they are the original)
- canvas enclosure
I'll get all these things done little by little , the boat sails ok , and although I would love to is impossible to fix in a year more than a decade of neglect.
The boat is in much better shape now , I'm focused on functionality at the moment and is taking most of my time. Cosmetics are afterwards. But to me and some of my neighbors the boat still looks good , and to hear them say it looks better each time they walk by it ... well that makes it all worth the effort.

Thanks Mark, hope all is well.
