You can easily do some very powerful searches on this site. Here are some tips.
First of all - be sure you know which Forum you are in. The Search only takes place where you currently are located and areas below. Near the top of the page you'll see an indicator of where you are currently located. It looks like this:
In the example above, because of Home -> Forums labels at the top, I know that I'm at the top of the Forums and any search I perform will be on all of the contents. If you are not at the 'Top' of the forums, click on the 'Forums' menu at the top of the screen. This will place you at the top.
In the search box, if you type: Bristol Bronze it will find any posts that had the word Bristol and/or the word Bronze anywhere in the post.
If you type: "Bristol Bronze" (with the quotation marks) it will find that exact phrase. Posts where the words are directly next to each other.
If you'd like to do fancier searches, click on 'More ...', then on the next screen click on the tab 'Search Threads and Posts'. This lets you specify Forums, Date Ranges, and Users.
