After speaking with the major davit manufacturers last week at the Annapolis boat show we decided to go with the Garhauer HD variety. They build them specifically for your boat once the dimensions are provided. We will be hanging an A/B 9.8AL with a 15hp 2stroke and mounting 50lbs of solar on top. My questions are:
Did you mount the bases inside the chainplates or outside?
Did you mount them on the stern or stern cap rail?
How high/tall did you have them built to facilitate use of the stern ladder allowing for solar panel head clearance? I measured 48" ???
Was the stock 36" reach dimension enough for your dinghy to clear the boarding ladder?
Did you mount the aft rail support poles on the inboard side or running aft, attaching to the stern?
Photos of M38 installations are limited, any assistance is appreciated!
Cheers,
Darby
