new Rust-oleum Marine varnish

stnick

lee nicholas
Maybe you have noticed home depot and the like dont carry varnish any more just 20 flavors of POLY ! ! So i tried the marine varnish that Rust-oleum sells OMG it goes on so clear looks cloudy in the can, but such a clear finish you would think its clear awlgrip sprayed on ! It does take a couple of days to dry but so rock hard and clear. !
i tried it on a cabinet door first with great results . Next will be winter main saloon deck strip and revarnish , But ill add some LINSEED oil to it for anti slip traction. A trick i learned form the Sabre guys when i had my 28 Sabre.

Really yes you cant feel it but in feet or sox you dont slip even when wet ! like 2 TBS in a quart.

Its very shiny and no its not sticky to the touch and does not collect dust . dust does not stick to it . your bare feet stick very well you will not slip if the deck is wet you will not slip !
Top Siders when put down dry or wet are firmly planted no slip at all. Yes to boiled linseed oil !
