I would like to hear from anyone who has had leaks from the hull
to deck connection on Charley Morgan 38. Question whether or not
merely tightening the through deck bolts may do the job or will
this make the matter worse ? Or--should new toe rail be installed
with new bedding ? Or what ??? I have owned the boat since 1979
and up until last year it was water tight. When sailing a long
race with the rail in the water a good deal of the time I ended
up with a ton of water in the boat. Could possibly have been
stantion bases, but I usually re-bed those every two or three
years, so I am suspicious of the deak/hull joint and toe rail.
