Davits

Are your davits a brand name (Edson, St Croix, etc) or are they custom made? Did you have to make any modifications to your boat for installation? And, are they worth it?
 
I installed a pair of Kato davits and are well satisfied. The one addition that I found necessary was support that I made from life line material to a pad eye. There was to much strain on the pulpit. The support relieved the pressure and my concern. I have a 10' rigid inflatable with a 15 hp Evenrude.I hope that this reply reaches you in time.
 

I found this davit manufacturer that offers a very convenient system. It is automated yet simple and inexpensive.
