Connection to Hot Water Heater

<div>I have owned a 1978 M-382 for about a year and one-half and am
curious to know of anyone else has had a problem with the hose
conection to the fitting that is at the bottom of the hot water
heater. Mine has what appears to be a brass nipple connection
to the bottom of the watertank, and then a hose which attaches
to that nipple. The hose is secured with a traditional clamp. In my case the hose comes loose and disconnects frequently due
in part to a combination of the vibrations associated with the
engine and the heat generated by the hot water heater. The
result is that the hose disconnects and spills out until I can
turn off the water pressure pump and reconnect the hose. I have
attempted to remedy this situation by using a hose that fits as
snuggly as possible, and by double clamping the fitting. None
of this however has helped.Does anyone have any useful ideas for solving this problem? Has
anyone figured out the best way to get to this place on the boat
without hiring a very small person to do the job? I am a fairly
big guy and getting into this small place under the sink is
worth the price of admission. Thanks for your help.

Can't help you with an easier way to get under there, but here is an idea for the connection. Get a nipple to hose barb connector of the right size. Then double clamp it. The problem now is that the hose has nothing to grab on to.
