I replaced the Atomic 4 that was in the boat with a Westerbeke
45. The engine people wanted a 3 bladed prop. I was in touch
with Campbell and Westerbeke and they contacted each other.
They decided the size that I needed. The blades are thin yet
produce "push" as good if not better than a wide blade prop.
Drag is less. Reverse is still poor but that is the nature of
the M-38 because of the long keel. An old prop maker at a place
I frequented held the Cambell close to his chest, closed his
eyes and said,"No cavatation with this baby." That sold me. I
do 7-8 Ks at mid power. More power and the boats aft end
squats. A collapsable is perfect but for the money, Campbell is
doing it for me. Keep in touch
