Bow light

My bow light (incandescent) bulb has burned out. It's probably time to go LED. Can I just replace the bulb with an LED bulb? The current bulb is a two contact bayonet base @ 10W. What should I get to replace it? Where is the best place to buy it?
TIA

checkout marinebeam.com, they have a wide array of replacement LED bulbs and complete fixtures. excellent quality and service

Gary , to have your light be really legal you need a mated lens to a led bulb. So whole fixture is the only proper way . !
You can just replace the bulb but your at risk of maybe not being seen at night the 2 miles like you would like ! And if you run into something and insurance finds this way to deny the claim , you would kick yourself. !

Just make sure that the bulb you buy says it is for the specific for the fixture you have. Normal "white" LEDs will not work even if they have the right base and seem to. LED "white" light is not full spectrum, so will not pass through the lens with full intensity. The light emitted from the LED will be different for red/green, so the bulb will have different panels in it, and the base will be clocked so the correct panel faces the correct side of the lens. Doctor LED has a series of lamps for different brands of fixtures with the correct 2 mile visibility.
