"Bonnie Lass'

Nice boat, how'd they get that Cheoy Lee inside a Morgan?
A lot of "smart" changes. Depending how well they were engineered and where in the lifecycle all the components are would dictate the value.
I like it. Wouldn't want to varnish it, though.

I just bought Bonnie Lass. There are some very interesting features on her. The former owners did extremely high quality well engineered work. I bought it because of it's condition and the amount of "stuff" she has. I searched for almost a year and finally found a boat that needs nothing. I take possession in a few days and I'll let you know how the three head sails work. I intend to sail it as a cutter rig reaching and use the 130 down wind.

Gary, congratulations on the purchase. The boat effectively address many of my pet peeves with the stock configuration. Changing down headsails in snotty conditions is taken care of. Storage is enhanced. I found the port settee uncomfortable. My boat has CNG etc, etc.
Good luck with your new boat.
PS. is there any backstory on who did the woodwork? She looks ready for crossing seas.

Gary,
I'd like to know more about the rubrail. Is it plastic, how wide is it? Does it wrap around the stern?

Hi Gary:
Welcome to the group and congratulations on your new boat. I met the former owners 2 or 3 years ago when the boat was in Brunswick Marina in Georgia. They gave my wife and I a tour. Where will you be keeping her?

While I'm sure she is in great shape with many additions and modifications, you will find this site and its members a wealth of information. .

The boat was sold to the guy I am buying it from about 18 months ago. Many of the modifications were done since then. The boat will continue to be docked at Halifax Harbor in Daytona Beach. I live about 80 miles to the west of Daytona. I am now working on insurance and any help or tips would be appreciated. I am very happy that there is this forum with so much knowledge and interest in the Morgan 38. I will be making good use of the info that is posted. Thank you.

Congratulations on your new boat Gary. I felt she was a pretty good boat and glad she is in someones hands and not another marina queen. Please let us know how it goes with her. I am definitely interested in the bow sprit. Also the double headsail config is pretty cool. Yachtworld no longer allows you to see sold boats... so post some pictures please.
