Boat Insurance

When I brought my boat home I had a difficult time finding a company that would insure a 30 year old boat. Progressive was the only company that would carry me. Now that I want to put it into the water this year I would like to have more companies to chose from. What companies are other people using? Thanks

I've had Boat U.S. for several years now. However, we're getting ready to take off cruising, so I'll need to start shopping for a company that will cover us internationally. Any suggestions?

You might Try ORM(Offshore Risk Management) Guy by name of Bill Coates runs it. They are in Florida 800 773 105 They insured my Catalina 38 for my 13 years in the Carribean and still insure it for my son
On my Morgan have has Boat US since 1986.

I apologize. That was a poor choice of words on my part. Allow me to rephrase that.

IMIS (and partners) Jackline Policy is geared towards offshore, international cruisers, not domestic cruisers.

Now I've probably offended everyone.

Last time I compared rates (summer, 2013) BoatUS, Progressive, and GEICO (underwritten by Seaworthy) were competitive. We chose GEICO because they covered travel to the Bahamas for no additional charge.
