<div>Thanks to all for commenting on my anchoring mystery: Jim, Tony C., Jay Green, Vic Copeland, Larry Hume and Jack Parlette.Well, you guys were right-- it was a counter-current that made my boat "sail" upwind of the anchor. I went out again in pretty much the same conditions, with a northwest wind, but apparently there was no current as the boat fell downwind of its anchor as it should. I have always heard that big ships lie to the current and small boats lie to the wind-- especially a steady 15 kt wind. I never would have thunk it! Thanks again guys! And thanks to Lenny for initiating this Morgan Home Page. This has been an invaluable forum for me in gaining information about my Morgan and sailing in general.Eric
