San Francisco Bay

Thomas McNulty
I spent last week in San Francisco. The first part of the week was for business but Kathleen and I decided to extend the stay. On Wednesday night, the conference organizers took us on a dinner cruise on the bay. We passed the USA's 1976 America's Cup boat while on the bay. The cruise took us under the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges as well as around Alcatrez. It was very nice except it wasn't a sailing vessel.
We went to Napa Valley for a couple of days and took a hot air balloon ride over the valley. Check one more off the bucket list.
We made out way to Bodega Bay but could barely see the water with all the fog.
One of our last stops was Sausalito. What a sailing paradise. It was the weekend and the bay was dotted with sailboats as we crossed the GG bridge back to SF.
Overall, a very nice trip.

There are M38 owners on the Bay. Maybe you could have connected with someone and sailed the Bay.

I thought about it but was with other folks and wasn't sure of our timeline.
Are you and Bonnie headed south this winter?

Tommy
No, we are shoveling snow with the boat on the hard this winter. Next year we'll go for the Bahamas again. We had been talking about leaving the boat in Florida for the summers. But the last couple of weekends we've had wonderful short cruises that we would miss terribly if the boat was not here. So we'll do the trek back up the coast, bridges and all. How about your plans?

Jim

Just lake sailing for now. I've been so busy at work, it would be difficult to be gone for more than a week at a time.
