We are home alive & well. Consumated the purchase of a 1984 384,
now named "LifeSong". Left Corpus Christi(TX) for Seabrook, TX,
last friday straight into the teeth of the suck that suppiled
the weather system that hit Okla area. (I kept thinking about
the comments on the drain pipe under the cockpit sole) We had
planned an offshore day & half, 188 nm trip, but 30kts plus in 8
to 10's and building, convinenced us to come up the
intercoastal. Several times we hit 8.5 kts plus in the ditch,
The boat did well, seemed to love it. She handles as well as
any boat I have ever driven. We were in Port O'conner, & walked
her sideways for some 50'( in the aforsaid 30+ winds) up to the
side of a restaurant (for our only hot meal)and enjoyed the
amazed looks of the other patrons.
