<div>I need to replace some of the aluminum strips/sheathing found on
the 38X rub-rails. I was told by a small local foundery that
they are extruded (I think that means stamped from hot aluminum)
and that I would have a hard time finding a company to make
duplicates. I've searched the archives for Catalina's phone number, but
can't find the specific message where it's posted. Could
someone pass that along to me? Maybe they know of the original
supplier for the rub-rail strips. Thanks.Eric

Eric,
Try Taco Metals, I am replacing the aluminum rub rails on Moonraker and I believe this is where the yard found the new ones.

Why don't you replace the alum. strip with a s/steel strip? It might be more expensive but it will last forever. And don't use the s/steel that is coved, use the solid molding.
The cove moulding dents and bends. The solid lasts forever and it still looks good. I have a source for the s/steel if you need it.

Eric,
I replaced my rubrails last fall with rails made by TACO. The replacement rails were identically the same (12' lengths and screw holes on 6" centers) as the originals. I looked at stainless as an "upgrade", but ran when I saw the price was about 10X the cost of aluminum. West Marine carries TACO rubrail products, so they're easy to get.
Good luck....
