New to me 384

Hello all, I'm new to this site and must say I'm glad I found it. Have liked the Morgan 38's for years but never ran across one when the timing was right. Until now. Doing a survey on an '85 384 tomorrow 6/10/16 on what so far looks like a very well maintained one. Fingers crossed. The spar could stand to be pulled and inspected and the standing rigging seems original and needs replacing but I knew that going in and have plans for those issues. I've found the information within this site and the knowledge of it's members a valuable resource in my decision to pull the trigger on the Morgan. Thanks for that. B

Keep us posted on how it goes...like Jim Ball always says...remember these are old boats...all can be fixed for $$:))

Survey all done and I'm happy to say no big surprises. In fact, very few small ones. The 32 year old rig notwithstanding, one standard boat unit $$ will cover all the issues, the haul-out, the survey and leave me a little something for adult beverages.

Congrats, and I too just took possession of a 1984 384 this past week, which is my second time owning a Morgan 38. After bouncing around on several newer coastal cruisers for the past 10 yrs I'm thrilled to have come across such a wonderful vessel, and didn't hesitate to move on the deal.

Thanks to all the members and contributors of this owners group for providing such a great venue to share a wealth of information.

Best regards,
Nick
