Membership Dues

I have not heard in a while how we are doing with the membership
dues "drive". A couple of months ago Jay Green said he received
two checks. Hopefully by now he has received enough to
underwrite the cost of producing and mailing the newsletter. How
are we doing, Jay, Lenny, anyone?

<div>I sent Jay a check for "dues" for the expenses for the board. Don't ask just send. It's the only right thing to do. I sent $10.00. If everyone here does the same the expenses should be covered. Isn't that right Jay Green?
$10.00 is a small amount added to your cruising budget. The time and effort of those who run this board are well worth the dollars. Just do it. Thank you Jay and Lenny for your time and efforts. Have a very happy New Year everyone and I hope your electronics don't crash.Capt Robert E

I guess I am the other member that sent a check. The rest of the "regulars" should do the same. I agree with Capt Bob, the ten bucks is a pittance to other boat expenses and returns a wealth of information unobtainable elsewhere. It takes a ton of effort by those running the membership board and they should not have to shoulder the expenses as well. JH.

I just purchased my 384 in Oct. When I was lucky enough to
fall upon this sight. I owned (still own, trying to sell)
an S2, 7.9. The folks who own these boats started a
owners group and infact since they are racing boats broke the membership down into fleets by geopgraphic location.
The information alone was worth the$10.00 bucks but what it has done to help the resale price is worth 100 times the amount. Another thing that the group shared in great detail was sail and trimming tips, made me a much better sailor. When I saw this sight, I immediatly sent some bucks. I already saved 15 times what I invested. I had to have a cutlass bearing replaced. Since I was not sure I could do it myself with my limmited knowledge, I had the yard do it for me. They were not sure the best way to get it done.
They quoted me a price that made me remember how much I liked my trailerable S2, and not being held hostage by a boat yard. However I shared some of the things that I had learned on this sight and I am sure that it saved me $$$ in the yards learninig curve.
I am sure some people won't recognize the value of this sight untill they stumped and need help.
Many thanks to those who donate their time and efforts to keep this sight and the news letter going. The least the rest of us could do is kick in a few bucks.

<div>Jay told me that he had received enough in contributions to put out a newsletter sometime soon. I do think we should have something regularlized--perhaps a note in the newsletter asking for a few dollars will do the trick. Thanks for the nice comments. (Now, if my kids were only that greatful....)

Whoa! That's what I get for being busy the last few months and not looking at the the board for a while! What dues? This is a great page and I'd be more than happy to contribute to keep it going. Just let me know how much and where to send the check Lenny! I can't believe all the information I've gotten from this site since I purchased my 1984 384 a little over a year ago. Please keep it going and let me know. Love the boat and love the info. Thanks Lenny! Tony
