mast step, support & groundplanes for RF

capnrichard

Richard Illmer
Just a word about RF groundplanes. HF travels on the skin of a
conductor, that's why we use foil. Also The reason to lay the
foil in the bilges and along the hulls is because a capacitive
bond to the water outside the hull forms through the fiberglass.
Therefore, tying the lead keel to the rest of a groungplane may
well add substancially to the groundplane even though it is not
in direct contact with the seawater. Sounds like a great idea to
me, if indeed the lags go into the lead.
