mast step on CM38

I am preparing to pull my mast. 6 yrs ago when it was out it had
signs of corrosions - any hints or advice on how to repair or
replace the step in a Charlie Morgan 38.

I have (C) M-38 #072. Many years ago I found the mast step (steel) badly corroded. Water in the bilge and soap from the shower helped rust the steel step. Had a new step made of SS. The base of the mast then began to corrode. If I do it again I'll replace the step with aluminum similar to that of the mast.

Check the archives because last year someone had mast step problems and solved them. maybe you can find the solution to your problem also.
