Manual bilge hose replacement

pacifica

Hello all,

Happy long weekend!

We have recently replaced our bilge hose because the original one cracked. We wanted to replace the manual bilge hose as well. However, we don't know what's the best way to access it. It goes under the cockpit settee on the port side, inside the hull-to-deck joint, and comes under the sink.
Have you replaced the manual bilge hose? How did you get access to it behind the galley cabinet? I've attached a photo of how it looks on our boat.

Thanks,
Alya

I am also looking at this as a place to run a hose for a backup bilge pump. Could not see a way to access behind the cabinet. Reaching behind the water heater is near impossible.

I would suspect that pulling the cabinet out will give enough access. I just had to do the same to run my LPG hose to the new stove. There were long screws holding it in place. Find them in the floor and ends of the cabinet, 8 in mine. You will need to remove the fiddles either side of the stove, ice box and counter.
Mine was difficult to pull out due the interference at the top with the cabin side teak plywood. I ended up trimming a little off the top, that isn't exposed. Overhead/headliner needs to be removed as well. See my last "New Stove" post for pictures.
