Happy Thanksgiving everyone 2016

Just wishing all you "Morganeers" a very Happy Thanksgiving...can't wait to get back in the water up here in the New England.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
In the Deep South we get to sail all winter minus a few days here and there. I'm taking a day sail today with some friends.
If any of you snow covered northerners are in the need for a sailing fix, you can come to the New Orleans area and I'll be glad to take you out on Lake Pontchartrain.
By the way, the worst time of year for us is July and August. I only do sunset sails in the heat of the summer.

Envy you...spent some time around Cameron and the Parish where Alligator Granny gave tours when we were recording alligator mating calls for Discovery Television ...bet you didn't see that one coming!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Our boats have gotten a year older, but I bet they all became better.

Are you speaking about Alligator Annie in Terrebonne Parish near Houma? I think she passed away a few years ago. I used to live in Houma but didn't know her. She was a bit of a legend in the area.
I now live in Lafayette and my boat is in Mandeville (2 hours from me).

Yes...I think that's correct! We were there in about 1996 ...I didn't know gators could up and turn around so quickly. If I find them I'll post the shots the film crew took of me hanging a microphone over a seemingly timid 12-14' giant gator...he decided he'd had enough of me and came after me. I just managed to hurl myself into the Cadillac near by. My wife and driver her in stitches laughing stuff how I looked in my dash.

Here in florida we did lunch on the deck yesterday , We live on a heavy wooded lot so the birds and the water fall from the pond and 72 degrees just made for a perfect lunch. According to the insurance company im 310 feet from the Anclote river and my boat is directly across the river from the house. Life is Good.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Sailor friends and crew.

Go ahead rub it in...sounds fantastic...

Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

Indeed, our Zia has gotten a year older but she's a spoiled girl and has had a lot of 'work' this year. New dodger, bimini, mainsail, genoa, radar, chartplotter, etc. Completely and totally financially irrational. But wonderful.

She's 33 years old, but looks like a 10 year old!

I noticed that our member Terry has just passed Point Conception, California, on his trip from Portland, Oregon down to South America. I've been watching his progress on marinetraffic.com ... his boat is Adavida.

We do all have a lot to be thankful for ...

Cheers!

Do you have a link to a blog or something for a Terry

I was a little worried because Terry appeared to be stopped about 1000 ft from Point Concepcion ... which they call the Cape Horn of California. Now I'm guessing he is holed up there because the winds were gusting between 25 & 35 knots from the NW. The point might be giving him some shelter.

Nearby Point conception is a great surfing spot this time of year. I imagine it could be tough going if you dont time it right. Going south should be easier than north in the south westerly current than the south current in summer. I've been out there so he's either having the time of his life or he's having a time in his life!
