Grounding Plates

<div>I just became aware of the porous grounding plates that increase surface area exponentially for their size. Does any one have experience with these and do they get clogged with bio-debris that would reduce their effectiveness? Also, does anti-foul paint interfere with conventional grounding plate function? Thanks.Eric

<div>My boat has the grounding plates. These cannot be painted but, for some reason someone else will probably be able to explain, they do not accumulate growth.
