Anchor Roller

I have had lots of other Morgan owners ask about my anchor roller. Since the board is quiet the last few days, I thought I would share a photo. I would like to try one of the new style anchors such as a Manson Supreme or Rocna but the roll bar on the anchor will not fit my roller. I may have to modify it if I ever spend the money on another anchor.
This photo is very old. I have since replaced my roller furling with a Harken, replaced the bow light with an LED, gotten rid of the CQR, and polished the stainless roller.

Great design! What are you currently using for an anchor? What size was the shown CQR, a 35#?

I like your anchor roller - I would like to have something similar. Could you post a few more photos (top, front, detailed views so a fabricator could copy it?

When I installed our Harken Cruising 2 furler, I used their long link plates to raise the furling drum up to provide more clearance for the anchor under the drum. Perhaps you could add the plates with minimal modification. See pages 8 and 34 of the manual http://www.harken.com/uploadedfiles/Product_Support/PDF/4414.pdf

Yes Jim the CQR is 35 lbs. Currently I have the 33 lb Bruce you see behind the CQR. I also have a Fortress FX-23 that does not fit in the roller.

Alan, I can take more photos and measurements the next time I'm at the boat. I like the idea of raising the furler. I will have to do that. Thanks

This is a great bow roller setup! It looks very strong and fits the lines of the boat. My only thought will be it should designed around the owners selection of anchors.

I know what you mean Jim. That is my only issue with it. My Bruce fits it just fine but my Fortress does not fit. I have been thinking about purchasing one of the new style anchors such as the Rocna or Manson but the roll bar will not fit. I guess I can go with the Spade which should fit fine.
