• Welcome to this website/forum for people interested in the Morgan 38 Sailboat. Many of our members are 'owners' of Morgan 38s, but you don't need to be an owner to Register/Join.

Why didn't I do this before?

If you are ever bored and want to work on boats, I know of one.... I don't want a light in there, because that means I am working in there too often!

There is a vertically mounted piece of plywood that was bonded to the hull during the Morgan retrofit.

The float switch is attached to the 1/2 in pvc pipe for easy removal

Another piece of wood on the hull is the backing plate for a rg ground (Dynaplate)

I've thought of molding some in fiberglass. I'm away right now on my way to San Diego to join the Baja HaHa.
We put into Santa Barbara early yesterday
I will be back early December and see what I can do for replacement Dust pan.

Great work on the bilge lights, I installed these on my father in laws catamaran but haven’t gotten around to installing them on my own boat, maybe this year haha.

For the dust pan, perhaps just a 3d printed dust pan? Would be super easy and cheap to make. If you think there’s enough need for a dust pan, I’d be happy to prototype a 3d model for printing.

Mitchell, how far south are you planning to go on the haha? I’m Currently up in the northern end of the Sea of Cortez making my way south. Should be in Zihuatanejo by Christmas.

Sundog,
We're heading all the way down the coast to Cabo San Lucas. The Rally ends on the 16th of November. I'm not sure of our plans at this point, but most likely Sail for a few days there. Explore a little and then start the bash back.
I wanted to stay for longer but it isn't happening this trip. I would love to cruise the Sea of Cortez.
Perhaps another time.

Sounds wonderful, I hope you have a great time. Please share some photos of the journey!

If you ever make it to the Sea of Cortez and we find ourselves in the same anchorage, I’d love to share a few hidden gems over a cold beverage.
