Hi Thomas - that's an interesting idea. I guess the purpose would be in lengthen the waterline, which would increase the hull speed. Maybe also reducing the "squatting" people report at full speed, which I think is really just the hull wave going up at the very bow and stern.
We get a lot of compliments on Zia's "nice tail" and I'm not sure if I'd want to change it. I also think our hulls have a sharper "up" angle at the stern and I think a sugar scoop would need to be a lot larger on our boats.
I am sure it would cost a small fortune too. The guy with the Hunter said it made quite a difference in his boat but it would only contact the water when heeled quite a bit. Looks nice though.
