Soon to be new owners of Hull # 172

After 17 years of sailing an Alberg 30, we are moving up.

Pending no surprises with a pre-purchase survey, we are soon to be the new owner of Hull 172 which I think has spent most of her life on Lake St. Clair in lower Michigan. We will be relocating her most likely to northern Lake Michigan next season.

I want to thank Jeff, Rolf and Ken who have answered numerous questions I have had over the last few months. I'm sure I will have many more going forward as the Morgan has many more systems than our old Alberg.

I'm in Green Cove Springs Marina (Jacksonville), FL about 40 miles inland on the St Johns River.

Congratulations Brian and Virginia.
I was in Mobile, AL today for work. My boat is about 2 hours west on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain.
I hope your survey turns out well. Make sure you do a complete out of water survey.

The purchase went through and I was in St. Clair Shores last week to take off the shrinkwrap and start to learn the systems. I plan to launch around Memorial Day weekend and do some shake down stuff on Lake St. Clair before delivering the boat at the end of June to her new home initially on Bay de Noc in northern Lake Michigan.

I think I have most of the systems figured out. Was wondering if anyone has a Stirling battery charger system on their boat?

I have looked at some of your Youtube postings. Your boat looks to be in very nice condition.
Thanks...it is...for a thirty five year old boat anyway. We look at newer boats like a 44.7 even a 47.7 Beneteau. They are fast boats. Just can't do it. The feeling we get sailing the Morgan is incomparable! Love how it looks below too. We feel it's one of the mist comfortable cockpits around.
