So we purchased the sony SSB retriever so we could get Chris Parkers broadcast and we don't quite understand.
To get station 4.045 we can dial 4045 with no point ? Of course we get ZIP !? we have tried and tried. the directions say nothing about how to place the point if indeed thats our problem ?
We have tried the 8.137 channel also dialed 8137 at the correct times of course !
I can get a AM station so i know the new battery work ! Very confusing. Lee 727 741 8510

Lee,
My boat had SSB on it when I purchased it but it was not working. I ripped it all out and know nothing about them. Sorry. You may want to ask your question on Cruisersforum.com. There are far more members on that site many of which are long distance cruisers.

4.045 should be correct. Make sure that you have your radio set on the USB mode. You won't get anything if you're set on LSB, maybe a tiny bit of something on AM.

You mention receiving AM broadcasts.... that makes me think you're on the AM setting. If you're in Florida, you probably won't get anything on 8.137. You're too close. I'm in Georgetown, Exumas and I don't get anything on 8.137.
