Hello, everyone! My first post! I just became the owner of a 1977 (September delivery date), Morgan 382 Hull# 009.
She had been laid up on the hard and not maintained for many years, about 5 years on the hard.
Her prior owners, older couple, had health issues and sadly the man passed away about a year ago.
The boat was named "Ranger" as the man was retired Army Ranger.
She is gonna need some work all around but she has a lot of great equipment on board, but not Installed....but her 3cyl Yanmar starts right up and purrs, or growls actually lol, man those early Yans do vibrate and are noisy, but what a great runner, and very very good on fuel.
Btw, I paid 10k for her, but like I said she has a lot of great equipment which I will list later, and I'll get pictures uploaded to show her current condition. I am a Union Master Trim Carpenter, so will be paying much attention to her interior, and yeah her interior needs a lot of help, but I can see her the way she will be, rather than the way she is...lol.
So, anyway I plan on photo documenting the refit, and of course I'll be needing lots of help from everyone especially you long time Morgan Owners.
It's kinda funny that I ended up with a Morgan, I had never really liked the Morgans I knew of, mainly the Out Islands, I know that the OI's are great for Island hopping but I was looking for more...and After spending the day walking every inch of Ranger, well I think I found what I was looking for....... a Cruising/Blue water yacht.

Could I ask what you paid? And condition?

Welcome aboard Gad. You will find many answers here. We enjoy looking at pictures of work that people have done on there boats. Now it’s videos!

Congratulations on the boat. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Show us what you are doing and ask away any questions. Most likely someone has tackled the same job at some point. We love talking about our boats.

Jim

Welcome. Your story of Ranger purchase parallels my purchase somewhat. Good luck and as Jim said ask away with questions. I have asked many, some probably bordering dumb but this notwithstanding, I rec'd warm reception and very helpful advice from those participating in this site.
