Mid-Upper Chesapeake Meetup

Ahoy....yeah uhh..hello...whatever...hello out there. I would like to invite mid and upper Chesapeake folks or those passing through to visit me and "Non Sea Quitter" (formerly Galewynd) on either South River (Glebe Bay) or West River (specifically Galesville), either for an informal chat or a somewhat larger yet perhaps somewhat more formal gathering for other 38 owners. I operate "Non Sea Quitter" for tours and private trips for up to six guests. She is a 1980 382 that has been pretty much restored and upgraded and is sailed regularly and frequently from April through November with paying guests. However...I do not suggest or recommend that anyone else try doing this as a business. Well.....sure you can, I mean, why not? But...beware. Come to Galesville and enjoy the pool and our local restaurants, antique shops and general bucolic, waterfront ambience just 35 miles from downtown Washington , DC.. Or anchor out in Glebe Creek and dinghy on in to my dock and visit. Plenty of facilities, shops and restaurants nearby... police station, fire station, post office, grocery stores, seniors center and even a redneck dive bar that's for the record books. It's always fun and informative to visit with fellow 38' sailors. Anyone up for an actual and planned Rahn day vooh?

My wife and I will give you a shout when we are in the Bay again. Our homeport is Galesville, and we used to own a house in Shady Side. It's been 15 plus years since we've been back, but it's on our list. We are currently on the Tennessee River just north of Chattanooga.

Hello MDHazel....Galesville is my homeport too and Shady Side is very familiar to me of course. Thanks for the reply. we got plenty of ice here and I hope you are staying warm. Please feel free to write to me paul@foerfront.com and we can talk abut Galesville and Shady Side. I grew up boating on West River/Shady Side.

We sail our 382, now renamed Ripple (was Romance) out of Deale, just one creek south of Paul on Non Sea Quitter. I had the good fortune of running into Paul in the fall as he was hauling out - I thought, hey the boat on that lift looks sort of familiar, and we had a good chat about all things Morgan. Anyway, we are up in the Galesville/West/Rhode River area a few times a summer, always happy to join in on meetings formal or informal!
