Manual pump in the head

I'm curious if anyone else has what appears to be an old manual bilge pump installed in their head? Here are a couple pictures. The interesting thing is I really never looked at it until recently and I now see that not only was the bellows portion of the pump not really even connected to the pump, but when I pulled it out it I now see that there's no "works" at all behind it. No hoses or even places to connect hoses. It's just that faceplate with the bellows inserted.

I have to assume that at some point in the past a previous owner installed a Whale pump to evacuate the shower sump. This is a standard handle cover for the Gusher10. On the other hand, that would been overkill for the shower sump. Most of us use electric pumps for this purpose.

Ok - that's what I was starting to think too. Yeah - there's an electric pump in there now. Now the question is - what kind of cool thing can I do with that space???? :) Thanks Terry.

Attached is a photo of a Beckson waterproof hatch installed behind the head. There is quite a bit of room for storage in that space. The other photos are W/P hatches below the shower faucet, below the shower seat, a larger hatch in place of the wooden door under the sink. Hope this gives you some ideas.

Oh my - that's stunning. Yes - ideas are running rampant, as is a little envy. Not only are the hatches awesome but it's all so clean!!!!

There are numerous places on the boat that can be opened up to access more storage. In a recent thread about the quarter berth, there were a number of ideas to gain better use of the space. I would hope that this thread will bring out lots of ideas from different owners.
