Looking at a 382 (Alpinisto)

Hey everyone,

I see S/V Alpinisto ('79 382) is up for sale (https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/d/bellingham-ted-brewer-morgan-382/7052502168.html) and I was planning on going to check it out.

I've been trolling around the forum for a while reading and researching. This seems like a relatively small community, so I thought I would drop a line to the forum to see if anyone knew any history of the boat from previous owners, or any other comments/advice.

Thanks & Happy New Year!

Hello Topher,
Alpinisto looks to be well equipped, but I know nothing about her. Seems like some good upgrades and she has been cared for. Proof is in the puddin' as they say. Make sure it looks good in survey and no leaky ports etc. Lots to look at there. 6' draft is nice, until it's to shallow, but I would prefer that myself.
I'm sure others will chime in with better info.
Good luck!

Looks pretty clean to me. Has lots of nice creature comforts, obviously-well-kept engine, solar, reasonably clean looking davit installation(tough issue on these boats because of the small transom), working instruments, comes with alum dinghy and 15 horse outboard, feathering prop, transferable slip....that alone is a pretty nice list of add-ons you don’t need to worry about.

Pricey but you probably wouldn’t regret it. For 35k it would be too good of a deal to pass up.

Sadly (for me) someone else bought the boat before I could get up there to see it. Hopefully they show up on the forum and become part of the community!

Cheers!
