John Dery here. I have a 1983 Morgan 384. I'm in the process of getting my boat ready to go off-shore. Just thought I'd check and see if there are any Morgan 38 owners in or around Pensacola. I just retired recently and currently keep my Morgan 384 at Bayou Grande Marina on the Naval Air Station in Pensacola. I'd be interested in meeting up sometime in Pensacola.

John ,If you ever come south In the area of Tampa Bay We would love to meet up with you . I have the Same boat as you . We tryed to go to the bahamas Last year but breakdowns caused us to be to late in the season. We only got to the keys. We did go for 3 months . Shes a fine boat !

Just maybe we could plan a trip together. We do konow all the good anchorages and resturants now !

I'm in Pensacola but not right now. My boat is in the Pensacola Shipyard. I will be down there sometime after the 12th or 13th of November and will likely be staying through next spring. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my boat but I'd be happy to meet up and chat if you're still there.

John , wait till you meet Rolf Perterson , This guy is a real sailor Amazing will and Knowledge and experence !
Hes the real deal .......

Thanks for the kudos, Lee, but we are all the real deal, I am always interested with the things you come up with on your boat. I do like sailing, too, and our boats are the best!

John, I'm hoping to meet up with you soon!

Rolf,
Awesome!!! My boat will be over at the Pensacola Shipyard next week (hopefully). I'm having my standing rigging replaced. Just finishing up installing a Hydrovane windvane. I've been working on a re-fit for the past two years or so and am getting close to being done. I'll drop you a note when I get my boat over to the shipyard.
Take Care,
John

Great, I'm in the non working section there. I will be down there Monday the 13th, I hope you are still there. I have a hydrovane, too.

Rolf,
I’min Pensacola for the next few days - would you like to meet for lunch on Saturday or Sunday. Maybe Joe Patti’s at noon.

Darn, I'm currently in the cold tundra of Minnesota. Back in FL on the 5th. Let me know when you come back.

Will do! Got a question for you- If I mount my spinnaker pole on the mast can I remove the brackets I have on the deck and it be sorry I did?

Hahaha. Great question and I don't know the answer really, but my guess would be that if you left the brackets on deck after mounting the pole on the mast after a while you would either be glad you did or very annoyed by the stubbed toes. I will say I've never wished I could put my pole on deck. But some times I wish I had the 12-22 instead of the 13-24, it's very heavy, but Lee gave me such a deal that I couldn't pass it up. But there is some added weight to the mast, it probably has some effect on the boats righting moment and windage, but everything is a trade-off, and while I might consider tying it off to the stantions for a hurricane, and I don't race against any boats not going my way, so I'm pretty happy with how things are.
