Dana has the Yanmar 3QM30H engine. My friends Choy Lee has the Perkins 4-108 engine. On a recent passage home from Block Island this engine started putting out blue smoke and emitting a knocking noise. He immediately shut down the engine and was towed to a marina in the Mystic River. It was diagnosed as a valve problem and the head was set off for a rebuild. The head has been replaced but the mechanics are saying that oil is not flowing up onto the rocker arms. I know many of the Morgan 38s have the Perkins engine. Has anyone had any experience with this symptom? Is there a way to clear the ports or to test for proper oil flow? My friends mechanics appear to be stumped and any insight would be helpful. Thanks
