    Yanmar raw water leak

Thanks for your guys' insights. My concern here is that it looks like the seeping occurs pretty close to the bolt hole, so finding a similarly shaped piece might prove very challenging. This is an interesting idea, it might be good enough to coat the exterior and seal it up "good enough". If...

    Yanmar raw water leak

I had the same thought about it leaking from the hose joint, however it does not appear to be the case. The metal tube the hose slips over looks like it is newer than the rest, so perhaps that was leaking and replaced by the previous owner. That might account for the paint wear. Sadly even if...

    Yanmar raw water leak

I discovered a seawater leak in my Yanmar and believe it to be coming from the side housing on the heat exchanger. I thought it was a crack, or maybe corrosion/rust, but now that I have it off and looking at it cleaned up, it almost looks like it was patched in the past. However I suppose...

    Owner's Set of Drawings

I am going to try and get a better digitized version, but for now, here is the 382 Cutter Sail plan that I got with my boat: M382 Cutter Sailmakers Plan

    Yanmar Anode carrier bolt

It did not come with the zinc, however BoatZincs.com has your back. https://www.boatzincs.com/yan27210200300.html

    Yanmar Anode carrier bolt

Just to close the loop for anyone who finds this later. The new anode carrier bolt (122780-09320) was the same thread pitch as the old bolt (124220-09320), the housing was just not in good shape. So I had a machine shop ream out the assembly thread with the same size tap to clean it up. New...

Thanks for the input folks, much appreciated.

    Yanmar Anode carrier bolt

Ultimately that is how I got the bolt out, by removing the assembly cover. However unfortunately the "head" of the zinc snapped off from the threads, and thus far I have been unsuccessful in extracting them so I can screw in a new Zinc. But that is a really good suggestion to just do that for...

    Yanmar Anode carrier bolt

Ran into some engine drama earlier this year when I found the anode carrior bolt in my Yanmar was seized. With much trouble, I was eventually able to get it out. For a few reasons I decided I wanted to try and replace that bolt. (No. 50 in the below diagram) I have been unsuccessful in...

Ted Brewer and New Member Hello

Welcome David I bought Alpinisto up in Bellingham in 2020, but moved to Shilshole last winter, so I know the painful cost of moorage there! I thought I would try something closer to home for a year ;) I would love to get together sometime and share 382 notes :). My partners parents live in...

    Lights and the headliner

I used white Sintra board (PVC Foam board) for the headliner, it was maybe $40-$60 for a 4x8 piece. It was super easy to work with, I basically took down the old headliner, dropped each piece on a 4x8 Sintra board, traced it out and cut it with a utility knife. I didn't so any vinyl liner, so...

    Lights and the headliner

Hey, a thread I can contribute to! I just recently replaced all my headliner and added some overhead lights to the salon. The lights I got ended up being more than I wanted to spend, but I had some specific requirements for them and ultimately I am really happy with them. My requirements for...

    Seattle Craigslist M382

I think I did touch base with Tom at one point, IIRC he is from Eastern WA, I should check back in. Funny you should ask about my boat, I am actually on her right now bringing her down to Seattle from Bellingham. Col days, but super fun!

    Seattle Craigslist M382

This is not my listing, but I stumbled across another M382 in the Seattle area...I had no idea there was another in my neck of the woods(water?). https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/bod/d/port-orchard-morgan/7246233890.html (Also attached a PDF for future reference)

    Upper Cabinets and Deck Support

I believe that I am hull #97. I do believe that the cabinets came with the boat, so they must have been custom order with the boat. In my opinion they match too perfectly. The shelf in the Qtr and the Electronics box above have enough differences for me to tell they were added in later. The...

    Upper Cabinets and Deck Support

My 382 came with some upper cabinets over the Galley Sink that I have removed (in such a way that I can reinstall them relatively easily if more storage is needed). They were screwed to plywood above the headliner and had wood posts below for support. I thought these were standard storage, but...

Hi to all you Morgan 38 skippers.

I bought my boat in Bellingham, so I am able to sublet for a year after purchase. I've heard the trick to getting into Squalicum is to get a slip at Blaine (which is run by the Port of Bellingham), then put in for a transfer to Squalicum. The transfer list is a lot shorter than the normal...
