Hi Mark,
I've never noticed any extra slow response time while at home. If you want to check out another hosting service, I highly recommend veerotech.net. I've used them for hosting a wide variety of sites over the past eight years with no complaints.

Bon Voyage. Good ports for land travel in Mexico would be Isla Mujeres or the marina at El Cid in Puerto Morales, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Best stopover for Guatemalan ruins is Rio Dulce.

We lived aboard in Maryland a couple of hot summers (in a marina) using a window A/C unit in the companionway. We were able to step over it to get in and out of the cabin. We'd put it in the quarter berth or the car when sailing. It worked well for us. Also had inserted foil backed bubble wrap...
Can't say that I ever noticed weather helm being different from one tack to the other but regarding the transmission - - we always put it in reverse. We also have a fixed, three blade prop.

I saw plywood squares also when I took down the headliner in our 1984 38-4. Sunlight can shine through the fiberglass. Didn't measure them, but they were definitely plywood, however.
Update: our new automatic fire extinguisher for the engine compartment finally arrived and while its capacity is the same as the old, obsolete Halon extinguisher, it's way to big for the space it has to be mounted. So, my question to any of the new owners (past 5 years or so) did your...
Hi Mitchell,
We went from Key West to Isla Mujeres back in the end of March / beginning of April 2015. It took us 67 hours in our Morgan 38. We had winds 17 to 22 knots and winds either off the stern quarter or directly behind us. Waves were 6-8 feet. Don't have any waypoints but we were about...
Hi Dave and Petra,
Welcome to the Morgan owners website. We've bypassed our water heater a couple of times when it was malfunctioning. You can just put a short length of hose, maybe 12 or 18 inches on the engine outlet and bend back to the return inlet. We then plugged the two hoses to the...

In our case, we had an installed system in the engine compartment that had been on the boat when we bought it 17 years ago. Our insurance company wanted a current survey. The surveyor said that we needed to update our automatic extinguisher in the engine compartment. We too have a fire blanket...
Thanks for the reply, Jim. Our surveyor said that the 1983 vintage extinguisher should go. This is all about satisfying our insurance company. I assume that the 50 cubic foot extinguisher would cover 50 cubic feet. Or am I misunderstanding your question. From my measurements, 50 is the...
We were recently told by our surveyor that we need to replace our original Sea Fire E75 Automatic Halon Suppression Extinguisher for our engine room in our Morgan 384. As you know, they no longer make these. Would this (see link below) be an appropriate substitute? Have any other owners...
Thanks Jim and Keefer. Measurements for the Galley Maid are:
13.5 deep
21.5 wide
16 high plus 2" guard rail
The Force 10 American compact looks pretty close but the standard looks about two inches higher. I guess that doesn't require any modification to the cabinetry. Thanks again for your help...
We are contemplating the same project as Richard (the original post). Can anyone advise me on what stove would fit in the space without remodeling the galley.
Thanks,
Ken
