Which hose is the coolant supply to the water heater and which is the return? I am replacing my water heater and want to make sure it’s connected properly.

It may not make any difference. The water heater is just a u shaped copper tube. I don't think it cares which direction the coolant is flowing.

The hose on the right that is connected to the exposed copper fitting is the outlet supply to the water heater heat exchanger, the hose on the left is the return. New water heater replacement finished and working great.

Hi Tom,
May I ask which water heater you used? I am about to pull the trigger on a new heater (finally, a long time coming). I still have the original in Sonata and it is long past due to replace. Although I must say it heats quite well, just leaks like crazy.
