Shower sump problem

Gary

Member
I posted this problem some time ago and have tried a number of things that were suggested. After trying everything, I attached "pressure" water to the shower drain hole and guess what it started working fine, however, as soon as I pump it dry, I seem to loose prime and I have to start it up again with the pressure hose. I am draining into the sink drain and the sink drains fine. Any more ideas?
TIA
Gary

I opened my pumps. The rubber seals inside he pump were hard and not sealing off to keep the prime. Agree with Dick, they are tired and need replacement.

Where do you get the pump and anybody have any pictures doing this job. Ours still works but good for future reference

Mine is probably original (32 years old) Could it be repaired or must I replace it? Mine is under the sink and very high near the top of the counter top. Very difficult to get at with small access "holes"

I thought that was our macerator...I will have to take a serious look next time...

Your macerator would be plumbed with larger lines. My pump has approx. 1/2" grey plastic lines in and out.

DEPCO PUMP clearwater fla get tho old one redone and purchase a new than you have a spare. 727-446-1656

To rebuild depending on damage 40 -60 new maybe 100 . The Little gray lines are the origional water lines. I used 3/8 PEX tore all the old gray out ! Pex is so easy to work with push on connectors and valves.
I made a manafold under the sink and every faucet has its own line with a valve so if there is a leak i shut that off. I have 2 water tanks so 2 feeds and several water lines head , shower , galley sink etc
The Depco pump stand behind every thing all the time. I was there Telephone repair man 30 years ago when it was 2 guys fixing pumps . Now they have a large building and do pumps all around the world. Disney and Most water parks. Disney runs on Water pumps . One per flat bed truck !
