Aft lazzerette center locker drain

guiny

Tom Prior
The center aft locker on my 384 has a rubber drain located on the locker bottom that exits the boat just above the water line. The rubber drain has a crack just outside the thru hull above the rubber flap that allows water to drain but stops it from entering. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement? I have searched the forum but have not found what I'm looking for.
Thanks

Tom, can you post a picture? Does it look anything like this photo from my 382? Note that the thru-hull with the rubber flapper is the engine exhaust and you can find that rubber flapper here:

The entire thru-hull can be found here:

I do not have a picture. The rubber fitting is in the small hole in your picture. I do not have the exhaust flapper shown in your picture.

I ordered the valve Rolf located, it looked like an exact replacement. I will let you know in the spring when I replace it.
Thanks

Currently using as such but when underway starts filling with water and have to plug. We dont have a flapper valve just the tru hull hole. With the valve thinking gas might buildup?

I store my propane tanks in the lazzerette. When the boat squats underpower the drain hole is blocked. I added a second hole just before the turn of the transom which is always clear in case of a leak.

Jim, Good idea to install a vent hole higher up. We also plan to use the lazurette for propane storage. Think we will go ahead and put the second old on our project list.

To avoid the issue of exhaust entering the lazurette we plan to move the engine exhaust to a location higher above the water line.

I'm posting a couple of photos of the additional drain hole in the lazzerette for when the boat squats. The first shot is the original, lower drain. The second is the newer drain closer to the transom. The third trys to catch both. When the stern squats and there is water in the locker, the upper drain is still clear in case of a gas leak.
