The Morgan 382 was designed by America's Cup designer Ted Brewer and built by Charles Morgan the legendary yacht builder, number 221 of approximately 275 built. I've owned and sailed this boat out of East Hampton since 2006.
My favorite description: "A teardrop-shaped hull, wide beam, discreet reverse transom, and long overhangs might be the hallmarks of a vintage racing boat, but Ted Brewer designed the Morgan 38 as a cruiser. This is one of the classic fiberglass boats from the eighties, over-designed with a thick hull to withstand any kind of weather, the Morgan 38 sits low in the water for maximum stability, control and speed. This design has a well-earned reputation as an excellent boat for her build quality as well as her excellent sailing qualities."
Aided by her elongated fin keel, skeg-hung rudder, protected prop and balanced rig, she is a proven, capable offshore performer and has earned the respect of sailors across the globe. She has a substantial toe rail, wide uncluttered decks and excellent sea berths. She provides comfort both offshore and at anchor.
The cabin, in dark wood and deep blue upholstery, can only be described as classic, old-world and naval. This Morgan 38 is meant for a true sailor, DIYer and boat lover.
